About

Why this blog?

Time and health are the most valuable resources each of us have. And the harsh truth is: Both are limited. This leads me to a fundamental question: How do I want to spend my time? What does really matter to me?

Some people know their answer right away, while others find fulfillment without ever needing to define it. Then there are those, like me, who start to think about it. I want to live a life that’s both joyful and impactful, but what exactly does that mean for me?

This blog is my way of exploring that question as I travel the world, meet new people along the way and try new things.

Now.. who is this guy?

I am Michel, a German in his mid-twenties and I believe that life is best lived simply. I enjoy a lifestyle that really grounds me, and let’s be honest, it’s also perfect for budget travel! I find peace in nature, whether it's hiking up the next mountain or sitting by the ocean. But it’s not just the landscapes that draw me in — traveling slowly, meeting people, and building connections is what makes travel truly fulfilling for me.

I also love volunteering which is (in my opinion an underrated) way to gain deeper insights into a country’s culture and try new things — whether it's taking care of 80 hens, performing in Christmas shows in rural Thailand, or teaching English.

On the more "nerdy" side, I’ve always been fascinated by technology, economics, and aviation. Before starting this journey, I spent nearly seven years working in the corporate world, mostly in tech. I learnt a lot but recently, I decided it was time to step away, leave the 9-to-5 behind, and see what the world has to offer. Now, with no strings attached and no set plans, I’m free to roam wherever the wind takes me.
